Ciate: Perfect Pastels

Hi Beauties

After shopping for drugstore Polish for such a long time and heating everyone rave about high-end brands like MAC, Chanel and Urban Decay, I thought I’d delve into the higher end of the nail polish world myself by bringing you my favourite polishes from Ciate,

As far as I know Ciate is a French brand and I only own two bottles of polish by them, but all in all I like them, they have a great range of colours, their formula is nice, goes on smooth, is quick drying and depending in the colour most Ciate polishes are opaque in 1-2 coats.

Even through it’s coming into fall again, this post is going to be on Ciates’s pretty pastels, I was looking up swatches online and pastels just seemed to catch my eye, so here are a few of my fave polishes that I would like to add to my very meagre collection.

The first Ciate polish is ‘Candy Floss’ which is a very bright yet subtle and petty shade of pink, this is a colour that for me will have to wait until next spring as I want to wear it with a tan to really give such an eye catching colour a new lease of life.

IMG_3097.JPG

‘Apples and Custard’ is by far my fave polish featured in this post, as you may know Iove green polish, weather it be mint or a deep emerald shade green is a mani must for me. ‘Apples and Custard’ is more of a muted lime green shade and less of a true apple green colour, however it is still stunning and it has such a super cute name.

IMG_3098.JPG

‘Ferris Wheel’ is a very pretty muted pastel blue shade which remains me a lot of the 1950s. It is a white based blue which will give your nails a subtle sky blue shade without screaming ‘look at me’.

IMG_3099.JPG

Pepperminty’ again has an adorable name but it is also the perfect mix of ‘Apples and Custard’ and ‘Ferris Wheel’,it has the 1950s sky blue shade that can be seen in ‘Ferris Wheel’ yet it is balanced perfectly with the muted lime shade of ‘Apples and Custard’, this is such a perfect spring/summer shade.

IMG_3100.JPG

‘Hoopla’ is another pink shade but unlike ‘Candy Floss’ is has more of a peachy undertone, as a result you get the perfect baby pink shade, simply beautiful.

IMG_3101.JPG

‘Spinning Tea Cups’ is the only purple shade to feature in this post which is strange because I love my pretty pastel purple shades, even though it is more of a grey based purple ‘Spinning Tea Cups’ still looks like a summertime polish, but because it also has more muted undertone I think this would be a lovely polish to wear in autumn as a professional neutral nail that isn’t nude.

IMG_3102.PNG

And finally ‘Strawberry Milkshake’ is another polish that would make a lovely nude nail, it is a white based pink, this balance means it is not so nude that it is plain and neutral yet it is not such a bright pink it can only be worn in summer.

Overall I think some of the polishes in this post are very versatile and have the perfect balance between subtle pastel shades and bold, bright shocking shades. In my opinion this means they can be worn in both summer and autumn and will compliment your look beautifully.

Autumn Oranges

Hi Beauties

I’m felting a little bit enter today and I’m back at the gym, yay 🙂

And October is approaching fast approaching and pumpkin orange nails will soon be all the rage.

China Glaze’s ‘Riveting’ is a beautiful burnt orange shade with a bright gold shimmer and the golden flecks of micro glitter finish this polish off perfectly.

IMG_3082.JPG

Revlon’s ‘Orange Blossom’ is part of their new parfumerie range, not only is the colour a striking balance between red and orange it also smells amazing.

IMG_3083.JPG

The next polish is again from Revlon and is called ‘Marmalade’ it’s a very subtle light orange shade which makes it very wearable whilst still giving your mani that pretty meant for fall look, plus it’s name is super cute.

IMG_3084.JPG

Sinful Colors ‘Courtney Orange’ looks like it could be the love child of ‘Riveting’ from China Glaze and Revlon’s ‘Orange Blossom’, it has a deeper more red undertone coupled with a stunning combination of a gold undertone and golden micro glitter, this one is a definite go to halloween polish for me.

IMG_3085.JPG

Rimmel’s ‘Tangerine Queen’ is a very true, bright orange. Not really one that I would have in my collection as it is a little too bright for my taste but it’s perfect for anyone who isn’t afraid to rock a statement mani.

IMG_3086.JPG

Finally ‘Beach Party’ from Models Own is an orange shade to wear with a tan or one that would suit a darker skin tone so that the neon tone can really pop, but I think this polish would still be great as a way to brighten up dull fall months and remind us that summer is never really that far away.

I am now going on an orange nail polish shopping spree oops :-p

Fantastic For Fall

Hi Beauties

I hope your all feeling a lot better than I am seen as I’m I’ll again :(. It’s getting colder here in the uk that can only mean one thing it’s fall again, yay my fave time of year. 🙂

Not only because it’s perfect sweater weather but also because there are done amazing autumn nail polish colours, so here are some of my faves.

The first is Butter London’s ‘Queen Vic’ it’s a beautiful raspberry red-y pink toned colour, which would look good as a dark nail without going too over broad.

IMG_3072.JPG

The second deep berry red autumn shade is Essie’s ‘Carry On’ unlike the cult classic ‘Wicked’ which is a more berry red toned colour, ‘Carry On’ has a stunning purple base which in some lights makes it look black and in others you can see that stunning deep purple undertone.

IMG_3073.JPG

The third is a much more affordable option, it’s MUA’s ‘Orchid’ which is part of their new fall collection, it’s a beautiful shade that lies perfectly between purple and pink, it’s the perfect shade for the summer to fall transition.

IMG_3074.JPG

‘Release’ from China Glaze is another purple based fall tone, but this polish has more of a grey undertone which makes it more a neutral colour but never the less it still makes a very striking manicure.

IMG_3075.JPG

The next two polishes are again very affordable and are both muted neutral shades from MUA, ‘Bullet’ is a concrete grey shade with a very pretty greenish undertone, where as ‘Mud Pie’ is a much more muted light brown shade, in my opinion they are both perfect for an autumn mani without being too over powering.

IMG_3077.JPG

IMG_3076.JPG

Now as many of you may know Revlon is by far my favourite nail polish brand, the next two polishes are two beautiful jewel toned shades that are perfect for fall. ‘Vixen’ is a beautiful deep cherry red, where as ‘Rainforest’ (my fave polish of all time) is a beautiful forest green shade with flecks of gold micro glitter. Although these two polishes are completely different shades they still make stunning fall manicure colours.

IMG_3078.JPG

IMG_3079.JPG

Another fall fave from Essie is called ‘Berry Naughty’ not only do I think the name is super cute it’s also a beautiful berry red tone, it’s not so dark that it looks black yet again it can’t really be considered a true red. It has the perfect balance of both of these qualities and in my opinion is simply perfect.

IMG_3080.JPG

Finally Essie’s ‘Armed And Ready’ is a very unique shade, it’s a brown-y green shade with flecks of gold and red micro glitter, I adore this colour and it’s defiantly one that’ll be on my nails this fall and maybe even into winter.

I Want Essence

Hi Beauties

I hope you are all doing well, right now I’m so so bored so I’m posting to keep myself entertained.

I’m considering buying essence nail polish, I’ve read some reviews and watched some YouTube videos and they seem great, very pigmented and cheap, so here are the polishes from essence I want in my collection.

The first is ‘Precious Peacock’ which is a very beautiful emerald green colour, I defiantly want this colour for autumn.

IMG_3034.JPG

The second ‘essence’ polish I want is called ‘Columbus Circle Crimson’ it’s not as red or as dark as the name suggests, to me it is less crimson and more pillar box red.

IMG_3035.JPG

‘East Village’ is another lovely colour it is more blue toned than ‘Precious Peacock’ but it is still a deep rich colour, I think this polish would be more suited for spring or summer.

IMG_3036.JPG

‘Grernwich Village’ is a polish that you might expect to be well, green. Instead it’s a stunning summery hot pink colour, a definite polish want for spring of 2015.

IMG_3037.JPG

The fifth polish I want in my collection is called ‘Park Ave’ which for me is a stunning tree trunk brown shade that screams autumn, it’s also a very neutral colour so would be perfect for the office.

IMG_3038.JPG

‘Minted On Broadway’ is a very bright very summery mint blue shade, but at the same time it can also give a mani that icy winter look.

IMG_3039.JPG

Finally ‘Side walkers’ is a classic wintery grey shade, it’s a beautiful yet neutral shade which gives an effortless finish to any outfit.

IMG_3027.JPG

Essie: Glamours Greys

Hi Beauties,

Now that the seasons are changing and it’s getting cooler, here in the UK it is at least, it’s time to wave goodbye to bright summery colours, so I thought I’d focus more on wintery shades such as greys, deep reds and blues.

I’ve decided to blog about my favourite grey polishes from none other then Essie.

The first is Essie’s ‘Chinchilly’ not only does it have a name that brings to mind an adorable furry rodent, but it is also a beautiful brown based grey that will be perfect for transitioning from autumn to winter.

IMG_2962.JPG

The second is ‘Smokin Hot’ which is a very deep toned grey, in my opinion it is not only perfect for a darker nail where black is a little too dark, this pretty polish also fits the bitter winter weather perfectly.

IMG_2963.JPG

‘Master Plan’ is a classic light grey polish, I’d wear this shade of grey no matter what the season, I love this polish it’s a definite must have for any polish lover.

IMG_2964.JPG

‘Cashmere Bathrobe’ is a cult classic and it has it’s place in any worthy Essie nail polish collection, this grey shade has a deep green undertone to it which makes it a beautifully unique colour, it’s perfect for that wintery mani.

IMG_2965.JPG

And finally ‘Cocktail Bling’ is a sky blue based grey which makes it again very unique but unlike ‘Cashmere Bathrobe’ this polish is one that I would wear all all year round as it has the perfect balance between grey and blue.

IMG_2966.JPG

I hoped you all enjoyed this post, and thanks so much for all of the locket comments and the countless likes so far on both of my blogs it means so so much to me. I love you all.
