To Try: Rimmel Lips

Hi Beauties

As most of you know when it comes to makeup I’m an eye shadow, liner. Mascara junkie, so for this post I thought I’d mix things up by telling you a bit about my favourite lip products from Rimmel, I buy quite a few lipsticks, balms and glosses which rarely get used, the products in this post are things that I’ve been wanting to try for quite some time,

Here goes…

The first two things are from the Apocolips range, I have two of the Apocalips Lip Lacquers already and I really like them, their so pigmented and not sticky I HATE sticky gloss. ‘Atomic Rose’ and ‘Meteoric Matte’ are from the Rimmel’s Apocalips Velvet range. ‘Atomic Rose’ is a dusky shade which has a very vintage feel to it and would match my skin tone perfectly. ‘Meteoric Matte’ is a very deep red shade that still manages to be a true red, I have a feeling that once this has been applied it might make me look a little washed out, but if I paired it with a nude eye look I could get away with it. A huge thank you to Beauty dream machine for the lovely swatches.

2015/01/img_4365.jpg

The next lip product is one of Rimmel’s ‘Lasting Finish Colour Rush Balms’, my favourite is in the shade ‘Make Me Blush’, like ‘Atomic Rose’ it’s another deeper pink shade (I must have a thing for them’. Rimmel’s ‘Colour Rush Balms’ are more like a pencil than the traditional stick applicator, which I find much easier to apply, I can get a precise shape and even colour.

2015/01/img_4369.jpg

Then there’s the lipsticks, Rimmel’s ‘Moisture Renew Lipstick’ to be precise, again I own quite a few of these but they never get worn, I own various deep reds thinking I’ll be brave and wear them out but when push comes to shove I chicken out and in the draw my unused lipsticks remain.

‘Ringa Ringa Roses’ is another pink shade but it is slightly more blue toned than ‘Make Me Blush’ and ‘Atomic Pink’ this means it will be more vibrant on the lips, in my opinion this shade would be perfect for transitioning from winter to spring.

2015/01/img_4370.jpg

The next lipstick I wish I was brave enough to try is ‘As You Want Victoria’ to me this colour is a very classic one, this lipstick brings to mind the black and white 1950’s murder mystery. In 2015 this colour is still one that for most of us is very wearable and would be the perfect way to add a touch of vintage class to any outfit.

2015/01/img_4373.jpg

And finally Rimmel’s ‘Sloanes Plum’ is another favourite of mine which I don’t quite have the confidence to wear yet. ‘Sloanes Plum’ is a very deep purple based red, which to me adds a very gothic- Victorian edge to an outfit, I think it’s my favourite out of them all and I’m determined to wear it out one of these days.

Thanks for reading Beauties and please tell me what you think about my shift from nails, does it work or not?.

MUA: Things I’d Love To Try

Hi Beauties

I know I’ve been away for a while but my life has been kind of hectic recently, money and job worries mainly.

So in order to tackle these issues I decided to go to a local shopping centre with a PILE of CVs, whilst I was looking for work their were a few products from the MUA range that caught my eye.

The first item was the ‘Romantic Efflorescence Palette’, I was particularly drawn to the stunning shades of purple this palette holds, one is deeper toned than the other which will be perfect for a sultry night look, or a could wear both for an ombré eye look. The palette also sports some very wearable neutral toned shades, which I like to wear on those no-makeup- makeup days.

2015/01/img_4352.jpg

The second product is another eye shadow palette, this time it’s the ‘MUA Luxe Palette’ in ‘Mysterial. As you may or may not know I love rocking dark, vampy eye looks even in the daytime. I love the fact that this palette is metallic as it gives you a more dress up kind of look. I was also drawn to this palette because I think the contrast between the deep metallic black and the creamy pink shade would work beautifully on the eye.

2015/01/img_4353.jpg

Each time I go to the MUA web store I spend time drooling over this nail polish, ‘Honey Shine’ is a stunning shade, it’s a gold metallic with just a hint of a rose gold undertone. It’s a beautiful online exclusive and ‘Honey Shine’ will soon complete my MUA polish collection.

2015/01/img_4354.jpg

I love lip products and whilst I was browsing yesterday I managed to find the ‘Lip Switch Duos’, I tested all of them (at least I think I did), but only really liked three of them.

‘Crimson Ruby’ is more of a true red it’s the only one I found with the lipstick and a clear gloss as opposed to a coloured one. ‘Crimson Ruby’ did make me look a little washed out but I’ll find a way to make it work.
The next ‘Lip Switch Duo’ is ‘Coral Pink’ and it suits my skin tone beautifully, it’s not too bright and is just a few shades darker than my natural lip colour so it isn’t too ‘in your face’.
The third Is called ”Persian Plum’ I think it would work well with any skin tone, unlike ‘Crimson Ruby’ this one is more of a blue based red, which works beautifully with my skin tone and hair colour and doesn’t make me look washed out, if you wear this shade you’ll defiantly get noticed.

I hope you all enjoyed this post my beauties, all of the images are from the MUA web store, go check them out their products are fantastic and super super cheap, love them.:)

Polish In December

Hi Beauties

Now that January is here, I can do a polish in December post. These are the polished I wore throughout the month of December, it was pretty busy for me so there aren’t as many as I would have liked, but here goes…

The first polish was ‘Star Watch’ from Revlon, it’s a magnetic polish with a deep brown based purple undertone to it, the magnetic effect this polish gives is really quite lovely, thank you to rougebeauty for the perfect swatches.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/061/65781477/files/2015/01/img_4343.jpg

My second polish to adorns nails in December was Rimmel’s ‘Cupcake Pink’it’s quite a sheer baby pink shade with very good lasting power.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/061/65781477/files/2015/01/img_4344.jpg

‘Full Metal Jacket’ from NYC is one of my all time fave metallic polishes, it’s cheap and has such an amazing shine. A huge thank you to kittynoir for the stunning swatches.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/061/65781477/files/2015/01/img_4346.jpg

‘Ginger Melon’ from Revlon is another fave of mine, some people might say it’s purely a spring/ summer colour but I wear it on my nails all year round, it’s a very bright orange based pink that smells lovely once it’s dried, although the scent didn’t stay on my nails for as long as it normally does, I dunno why :@, a huge thank you to kickarseredlips for the lovely swatches.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/061/65781477/files/2015/01/img_4347.jpg

The finale polish I wore in 2014 was another one by Revlon, it’s such a fantastic brand I love love love their formulae, unlike NYC’s ‘Full Metal Jacket’ which has a very subtle rose gold tint to it, ‘Silver Dollar’ is a true silver shade with a pretty shimmer finish, a big thank you to macyxmakeup for the beautiful swatches.

And a massive thank you to all of my Beauties who read and support my blog, you really don’t know what it means to me. I hope you enjoyed this post, they’ll be plenty more for 2015 :).

Christmas Haul 2014

Hi Beauties

Now that Christmas is over and done with and before we get back to normality, I thought I’d do my Christmas haul. I’ve seen lots of YouTubers and blogger do them so I thought I’d jump on the band wagon, so here is everything I got on Christmas Day,

The first thing and perhaps the thing that will be my most treasured item besides my Pandora bracelet is my beautiful peridot necklace, I love it it’s elegant, stunning and so special to me.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/061/65781477/files/2014/12/img_4315.jpg

The second thing is another jewellery item from the Alchemy Gothic website, I’ve been a fan of their stuff for years, you can find some really unique and interesting pieces. My earrings are defiantly interesting, they’re cherries with skulls in the centre of them, each skull has two little wicked red eyes and a nose which I don’t think we’re picked up by my camera very well. I love them and I’ve worn them everyday since Christmas.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/061/65781477/files/2014/12/img_4334.jpg

Now I’m not much of a drinker but my two favourite drinks in the whole world are Baileys and Southern Comfort, but this time it got even better I got Chocolate Baileys and Cherry Southern Comfort, they both taste amazing and were pretty much gone on Boxing Day.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/061/65781477/files/2014/12/img_4317.jpg

Staying with the gothic theme I received a lace and chain choker which I adore, I love the fact that it’s super simple yet it will still make a statement and dress up an outfit.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/061/65781477/files/2014/12/img_4309.jpg

Ive needs new hair straighteners for the longest time, I got new ones last year but the heating element in them keeps going. So this year I got Nicky Clarke straightens, they’re amazing they do I beautiful job at making my hair poker straight and super sleek, the only down side to them is that they don’t have a temperature control so I have to be extra careful when brushing my hair through.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/061/65781477/files/2014/12/img_4307.jpg

The next two presents were little things that have a lot of meaning behind them, the 8 ball my boyfriend bought for me to help me make decisions, and the cup is such a great idea I love coffee and now when I’m drinking my morning cuppa I’ll think of my beautiful Jay :).

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/061/65781477/files/2014/12/img_4308.jpg

The next present is perfect for me as I’m always super cold no matter what month it is, this lovely fleece is super big, it comes down to my knees, super warm and it makes me feel like a sheep 🙂 bbah

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/061/65781477/files/2014/12/img_4306.jpg

As you may or may not know I LOVE COWS and I have no idea why, but my Jay and a friend of mine both got me cows. Although they didn’t cost a lot
they both mean so much to me, 🙂

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/061/65781477/files/2014/12/img_4305.jpg

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/061/65781477/files/2014/12/img_4319.jpg</a

The same friend who got me the cute cow also got me a lovely braided leather bracelet, it has five strands, two of which are braided, one has an infinity sign, the other a pretty tree of life and the finale strand has cute birds which I think are swallows but I’m not too sure, I’ve yet to wear it but I’m sure I will very soon :).

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/061/65781477/files/2014/12/img_4318.jpg

My finale gift was one that I have been eyeing for awhile, it’s a green vest top with an awesome ouija board print, lace skull patterned back and big bows on the straps, I think it’s from jawbreaker, as soon as I opened it I changed into it and wore it for the rest of Christmas Day,

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/061/65781477/files/2014/12/img_4335.jpg

I got the pic of the top from ebay, as mine was in the wash.

I hoped you enjoyed my Christmas haul and I hope it wasn’t too late.

Winter Essentials 2014 Tag

Hi Beauties

I don’t normally do tags, but it’s Christmas so this time I thought why not?😚, I was tagged by the lovely The World Of Cos you can check out her Winter Essentials 2014 Tag here 🙂.

So let’s get started…

1) What is your ultimate party season lip product?

Now this is a tough one, but I’d have to say MUA’s Lipstick in ‘Wild Berry’, it’s my perfect winter shade, it’s a blue based red that goes beautifully with my skin tone, it’s a shimmer finish which means it isn’t too drying on my lips and is super cheap at only £1.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/061/65781477/files/2014/12/img_4152.jpg

2) What is your winter Essential Product?

I’d have to say my ultimate product for winter, the one I never leave the house without Is my hand cream, my hands get so dry during the winter months, my go to hand cream this year is Doves ‘Indulgent Nourishing Hand Cream with Shea Butter’. It works so well it makes my skin super soft, it doesn’t smell funny and it doesn’t feel greasy on my skin either, I love this stuff.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/061/65781477/files/2014/12/img_4153.jpg

3) What are you most hoping to see under the Christmas Tree?

I’ve had my eye on a beautiful ruby ring for quite sometime so I’m hoping to find it under the tree this year, but If not I suppose there’s always my birthday.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/061/65781477/files/2014/12/img_4154.jpg

4) Name one beauty essential that is never missing from your bag during colder months

Another beauty product I never leave the house without in the winter months are my ‘Applelicious Glossy Lip Balms’ by NYC, I currently have two of them ‘ Apple Blossom’ and ‘Apple Blueberry Pie’ they are so lovely they leave my lips so soft and hydrated and they have a super lovely scent to them as well, I’d defiantly recommend them.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/061/65781477/files/2014/12/img_4155.jpg

5) What are your winter weather skincare saviors?

For this question I only have one product as my skin doesn’t really change all that much in the winter. My chosen product is the ‘Visibly Clear 2 in 1 Mask and Wash’ from Neutrogena. I love this stuff it works perfectly well as a wash, taking away dead skin cells, getting rid of makeup and oils, but if I want a deeper clean the face mask really does the job, I leave it on for 15 minutes and when I take it off my skin feels lovely and soft and looks sparkling clean.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/061/65781477/files/2014/12/img_4156.png

6) What is winter going to smell like this year?

I rarely drink but I have a soft spot for ‘Southern Comfort Cherry’, I love ‘Southern Comfort’ and cherries on their own, so when my boyfriend bought me ‘Cherry Southern Comfort’ I was in heaven I could wait until Christmas Day and had to open it their and then :).

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/061/65781477/files/2014/12/img_4157.jpg

7) Is the Berry eye the new Berry lip?

No, I love berry lips there’s something so classy and elegant about them, in my opinion berry lips will never go out of style and berry eyes? I don’t think they’ll stick around for long.

8) What are you greatest winter indulgences?

Mmm this is a tricky one, I’d have to say run balls are one of my fave treats that I can only seem to find in shops at Christmas time, I can literally sit and eat and entire packet, lucky for me their super cheap and ultra delicious.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/061/65781477/files/2014/12/img_4158.jpg

9) Lush Christmas? Your top pick?

I don’t really use Lush products, but I’ve seen some of my Beauties blogging bout them and it’s got me wanting to try the Christmas Kisses’ bubble bar, I think I’m drawn to this one most of all because it looks like a huge Hershey’s kiss, and I’m a sucker for Hershey’s chocolate.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/061/65781477/files/2014/12/img_4261.jpg

10) Name one (or more) random winter essential.

My final winter essential has to be my ‘Glorious Mud’ face mask, it’s a clay based face mask and does wonders to my pores, I love applying it whilst in a nice relaxing bubble bath with candles burning and a good book.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/061/65781477/files/2014/12/img_4159.jpg

Time to tag my beauties, but only do the tag if you want too.

1) Ruth http://adornedclaw.com

2) the beautified blogger https://thebeautifiedblogger.wordpress.com/about-2/

3) Elektra King

The Beautiful Star Watch

Hi Beauties

Today I’m posting my newest nail colour which is Revlon’s ‘Star Watch’, it’s a very deep purple shade, so deep infact that on the nails it almost looks like a chocolate brown shade.., yummy chocolate.

IMG_4134.JPG

It’s a lovely magnetic polish, but sadly mine didn’t come with the magnet so on my nails it’s a flat purple-y brown shade, still very beautiful but the swatch above shows ‘Star Watch’s’ true beauty thanks to itsallprettytome .

I really do love this colour I’m thinking I might do a post about the entire collection, what do you think?

Love, Hugs And Glossy Kisses,

Aurora xxx
