My Faves: Pretty Pastel Polishes

Hi Beauties

Spring is finally coming, there are lighter mornings which makes dragging myself out of bed for work a nicer experience, there are cute clothes in my fave shops that I can’t wait to get my hands on, but best of all there are pretty spring time pastel polishes,

And here are some of my faves…

The first pretty pastel polish I want to feature in this post is ‘Apple Pie’ by Models Own, It’s a stunning pale green shade that would look lovely with a tan

The second polish is a sky blue shade, now as many of you know I’m not really a blue nail polish kind of girl, but Maybelline’s ‘Uptown Blue’ really stood out to me, it reminds me of a clear sky on a warm sunny day, it’s simply beautiful.

The third polish is one I really do want to try its Essie’s ‘Garden Variety’ which is part of their new spring collection, its a very unquie shade, it has the perfect balance between green and blue that creates a colour all it own that is perfect for the coming spring.

The next polish is from Rimmel’s new Rita Ora collection, not only are the bottles super cute and girly but the colours are sweet and pastel perfect, my favourite is ‘Sweet Retreat’ is a lovely blue toned pink shade and will make you look very tanned.

Thank you lovely for the beautiful swatches

Next I’m going to move onto a polish from Revlon that has been featured in many several of my posts before, yes as you may have guessed it’s a green and no it isn’t ‘Rain Forest’. ‘Minted’ (Thanks for the lovely swatch huni) is a classic Spring to summer transition shade, that isn’t to bright to be worn day or night.

‘Road Rage’ from Barry M is one that I went to purchase last week, it is part of the Speedy Quick Dry collection and was impossible to get hold of, I am very disappointed that I still don’t own this gorgeous fresh green spring shade, maybe some day I will :).

Finally Ciates’s ‘Spinning Teacup’ is also a pretty pastel polish that I have featured in other posts, but I thought I’d mention it again, it’s a beautiful vintage lilac shade that suits it’s name perfectly, I can’t wait to own it.

Thank you huni for providing me with such an adorable swatch

Thanks for reading Beauties, I hope you all enjoyed this post. Are there any pretty pastel polishes that I’ve missed out? Which are your favourite shades for spring?.

Barry M: Silk Collection- Pastels

Hi Beauties

I’m bored and it’s cold and rainy outside :(, but regardless of how horribly cold and wet it gets know that my beauties will always be here to cheer me up.

Since I can’t be bothered to leave the ball of blankets on the sofa that I have become a part of I thought if browse the web for yes you guessed it… More nail polish. I came across Barry M’s Silk collection and thought why not post about their perfect pastelness.

The first is ‘Blossom’ it’s a light pink shade and the only one of this collection I purchased it last year and have only worn it a few times, but I still love it and can’t wait for next spring so ‘Blossom’ can be worn again.

‘Pearl’ is a very beautiful yet classic milky white shade. Which is in my opinion the only polish in the Silk collection that you can wear all year round, it’s very versatile and the off white shade and pearly silk finish means it will add a touch of class to any outfit.

IMG_3217.JPG

‘Truffle’ is a champagne browny glider shade it looks lovely in the bottle but when I compared it to my skin tone it made me look very washed out, this is a polish that would look lovely on a more olive skin tone.

IMG_3218.JPG

‘Meadow’ is a lovely spring light green shade, that automatically makes the ‘sopranos’ spring to mind. I really do love this shade it is subtle enough that you could wear it to the office yet it still packs enough of a punch that it makes a lovely spring and summer mani.

Ad many of you know I’m not really a blue polish person, ‘Mist’ from the Silk collection doesn’t really do much for me. I’m really not a fan of the powder blue shade and the silk finish sheers out the overall colour, not a fave of mine but it would still make a lovely mani for someone who’s more into blues than I am.

And lastly Is ‘Heather’ not only does this polish have a pretty name but it also has the colour to match, it’s a stunning lilac shade which for me gives off a real vintage vibe, I can’t wait to add ‘Heather’ to my collection.

I hope you all enjoyed this post, I’ll be posting agin soon about Barry M’s Silk collection, but this time about their new fall silk collection, there’s some lovely colours but I guess you’ll just have to wait and see.

Ciate: Perfect Pastels

Hi Beauties

After shopping for drugstore Polish for such a long time and heating everyone rave about high-end brands like MAC, Chanel and Urban Decay, I thought I’d delve into the higher end of the nail polish world myself by bringing you my favourite polishes from Ciate,

As far as I know Ciate is a French brand and I only own two bottles of polish by them, but all in all I like them, they have a great range of colours, their formula is nice, goes on smooth, is quick drying and depending in the colour most Ciate polishes are opaque in 1-2 coats.

Even through it’s coming into fall again, this post is going to be on Ciates’s pretty pastels, I was looking up swatches online and pastels just seemed to catch my eye, so here are a few of my fave polishes that I would like to add to my very meagre collection.

The first Ciate polish is ‘Candy Floss’ which is a very bright yet subtle and petty shade of pink, this is a colour that for me will have to wait until next spring as I want to wear it with a tan to really give such an eye catching colour a new lease of life.

‘Apples and Custard’ is by far my fave polish featured in this post, as you may know Iove green polish, weather it be mint or a deep emerald shade green is a mani must for me. ‘Apples and Custard’ is more of a muted lime green shade and less of a true apple green colour, however it is still stunning and it has such a super cute name.

IMG_3098.JPG

‘Ferris Wheel’ is a very pretty muted pastel blue shade which remains me a lot of the 1950s. It is a white based blue which will give your nails a subtle sky blue shade without screaming ‘look at me’.

IMG_3099.JPG

Pepperminty’ again has an adorable name but it is also the perfect mix of ‘Apples and Custard’ and ‘Ferris Wheel’,it has the 1950s sky blue shade that can be seen in ‘Ferris Wheel’ yet it is balanced perfectly with the muted lime shade of ‘Apples and Custard’, this is such a perfect spring/summer shade.

IMG_3100.JPG

‘Hoopla’ is another pink shade but unlike ‘Candy Floss’ is has more of a peachy undertone, as a result you get the perfect baby pink shade, simply beautiful.

IMG_3101.JPG

‘Spinning Tea Cups’ is the only purple shade to feature in this post which is strange because I love my pretty pastel purple shades, even though it is more of a grey based purple ‘Spinning Tea Cups’ still looks like a summertime polish, but because it also has more muted undertone I think this would be a lovely polish to wear in autumn as a professional neutral nail that isn’t nude.

IMG_3102.PNG

And finally ‘Strawberry Milkshake’ is another polish that would make a lovely nude nail, it is a white based pink, this balance means it is not so nude that it is plain and neutral yet it is not such a bright pink it can only be worn in summer.

Overall I think some of the polishes in this post are very versatile and have the perfect balance between subtle pastel shades and bold, bright shocking shades. In my opinion this means they can be worn in both summer and autumn and will compliment your look beautifully.
