Today’s mani

Hi Beauties

After much debate I decided to go for ‘Fiji’ which was so disappointing, it’s very very sheer, takes ages to dry and smells terrible, but thanks everyone for the feedback it really means a lot to me.

Today I redid my nails with MUA’s ‘Bright Pink’ after the Sinful Colors mishap, I’m hoping it’s just a bad batch because I really do like the colour. On the other hand ‘Bright Pink’ is very pigmented, opaque in one coat and is very long wearing.

Love it, a big thanks to Sarah for the fantastic pic of one of my fave polishes.

Barry M Silk Collection- Darks

Hi Beauties

I’m posting early because I have a lot to sort out today, this post is actually a part two of my Barry M Silk Collection series, you can see part one here which is about the lighter more summery side of the collection, but since winter is here I thought I’d bring all of my beauties the deeper darker side of the Silk Collection.

‘Forest’ is a lovely deep green shade with a pretty silver shimmer finish, in my opinion it is more of s blue based green which makes it a lot more suitable for this collection and the season than if it were a rich emerald green.

‘Poppy’ is a beautiful deep red shade, that still keeps its true redness, I. Saying that I mean it still manages to look dark and wintery without having too much of a purple/ blue undertone.

IMG_3647.JPG

Finally ‘Orchid’ is a lovely royal rich toned deep purple with ties this collection up beautifully, for me it is the perfect balance of ‘Poppy'(s) purple/ blue undertone and the stunning green of ‘Forest’.

I love all of these polishes so much, to me they’re very gothic shades and would be perfect as a way to move away from the more pastel shades of the Silk Collection and embrace the winter months.

Zoya’s Velvet Matte Madness

Hi Beauties

Well, I was browsing the web for nail polishes as you do at 3pm on a Wednesday afternoon, and I came across an advertisement about the rerelease of Zoya’s Matte Velvet polishes, I googled swatches and they look amazing.

I was amazed at how much they actually look like velvet, and the colours are beautiful. I’ve never liked every colour in a whole collection before, here are my thoughts on Zoya’s rerelease matte velvet collection.

‘Dovima’ is a stunning matte black which will be perfect for Halloween or even to transition between autumn and winter. A ‘Dovima’ mani would also look amazing with a glossy tip to give it that ultra glamorous look and feel.

IMG_3182.JPG

‘Posh’ is a very true bright red shade, again it can by made classy or you could add an edge of rockabilly with black vintage patterned decals. I love red and black together and they look stunning on the nail, the velvet texture of the polish coupled with the smooth look of the decal will really make your manicure pop.

IMG_3183.JPG

”Harlow’ is to me more of a fuchsia or deep pink shade as opposed to a berry red, it’s a lovely shade and very wearable but for me it would need to be just a little bit darker. However i do think this polish would look beautiful at a New Year’s Eve party, ‘Harlow’ is a lovely colour and even though it isn’t a true favourite I’d still have it in my collection.

IMG_3184.JPG

‘Savita’ is a very eye catching bright purple shade, I like this polish because unlike the rest of the collection it has a brightness to it which takes away from the strictly gothic look, however I do think the matte velvet finish to the polish makes it a fall or a winter only polish, it would just look too heavy to wear in the summer.

IMG_3185.JPG

‘Veruschka’ is by far my favourite polish of this collection. It is a stunning deep green shade. Green for me is a very versatile colour and a favourite of mine when it comes to nail polish. ‘Veruschka’ would look stunning with ‘Posh’ and a gloss tip to create a sophisticated yet eye-catching manicure.

IMG_3186.JPG

And finally ‘Loredana’ which is a gunmetal grey shade, is for me very much like ‘Harlow’ not a true favourite of mine. It seems to be stuck in limbo between black and grey, but it would still make a lovely mani for anyone who’s wants a dark nail but does not want to use a full on gothic black like ‘Dovima’.

Overall I really do like this collection the velvet matte finish looks stunning for autumn and winter and there is a beautiful colour selection, there is defiantly something for everyone and it’s a collection I can not wait to own.

China Glaze: Metal Metallics

Hi Beauties

It’s getting colder and more wintery here already, I live in the UK and at the moment all it does is rain, so to go along with the rainy weather I thought I’d bring you my favourite metallic polishes by China Glaze.

The first polish by China Glaze is called ‘I’m A Chromantic’, its a textured polish with a very pretty lilac-y pink under tone, now I’m not really a textured polish person as I think some of them can look cheap, but this one looks lovely, I think the lighter colour and the subtle texture makes ‘I’m A Chromantic’ very wearable.

IMG_3176.JPG

‘Rare And Radiant’ is by far one of my favourite from China Glaze’s metallic collection, it is a stunning green shade, a shade that has the perfect balance between a lime green and an emerald green.

IMG_3177.JPG

‘Unpreditable’ is another green shade, but this one is more aquatic than ‘Rare And Radiant’, it is a blue based green which reminds me completely of vacationing some where beautiful and sunny, to me this polish is perfect for the ultimate summer manicure.

IMG_3178.JPG

The forth polish I want to mention in this post is a very beautiful jewel toned purple shade called ‘No Plain Jane’, this polish was named just right because it is anything but plain, it is a very true purple which looks beautiful but the added metallic finish gives it a look all it’s own. Simply stunning.

IMG_3179.JPG

‘Platinum Sliver’ as you’ve probably guessed is a pretty silver shade, but the metallic finish adds a very beautiful mirror finish to this polish, making your manicure beautifully multi tonal.

IMG_3180.JPG

And finally China Glaze’s ‘Poetic’ is another favourite metallic polish of mine. It’s a stunning rose gold shade, but the metallic finish gives this polish a touch of modernity. ‘Poetic’ is the perfect polish to give your manicure a pretty vintage modern twist.

So, another post inspired by the strange weather, I wonder what will inspire me next?

Essie Purples

Hi Beauties

I thought I’d share some of my fave purple polishes from Essie, enjoy! čÖé

The first polish is a beautiful dark lilac shed called ‘Play Date’ it has quite a noticeable blue undertone which makes this polish perfect for that summer to autumn transition.

IMG_2562.JPG

The sexing is a polish called ‘Sexy Divide’ which is a very deep purple that it almost looks dark blue, but in the sunlight it glints and sparkles the most most beautiful deep purple shade.

IMG_2563.JPG

‘Underwear’ is another lilac shade, but this one had a more pink undertone making it the perfect manicure to finish off the perfect summer.

IMG_2564.JPG

‘Carry On’ is a more deep berry red based purple, in my opinion it’s defiantly a reason for winter to come.

IMG_2565.JPG

The finale two polishes, ‘Under The Twilight’ and ‘Lilacism’ are both beautiful toned purples, although ‘Lilacism’ is a brighter lilac shade they both have grey undertones which makes them both the perfect fall shade of purple.
