New Additions

Hi Beauties

I haven’t done a new additions post in quite some time, so it feels slightly strange to be doing one now. All of my new polishes are part of the Maybelline ‘Colo Rama’ collection, here goes…

‘Vibrant Fuchsia’ is a very pretty hot pink shade (although it looks more lilac on camera)

IMG_3466.JPG

‘Coral Rose’ is more of an orange based coral than a pink based one, I think I’ll wear this on halloween.

IMG_3469.JPG

‘Blackcurrent Jelly’ is a very deep plum based red which is perfect for when the snow comes.

IMG_3468.JPG

‘Wine Red’ is a rich red shade with a deep pink shimmer running through it, love this shade.

Does anyone know how many colours are in the ‘Colo Rama Mini’ collection and also where I can get more of these, if you do please comment below 🙂

Overcast Autumn Oxblood’s

Hi Beauties

I’m in the mood to post today, since winter is on it’s way, or for some parts of the country it’s already here, I thought I’d post about one of fall 2014’s biggest nail polish trends, ox blood nails. A deep ox blood manicure
will always wins place in my good books, so here are a few of my fave ox blood polishes.

The first Is ‘Boredoux’ by Essie, it’s a deep red tone, it’s defiantly one of my faves, it’s not so dark that it looks black, I love the fact that the berry red undertone can still be seen on the nail.

IMG_3238.JPG

The second polish to feature in this post I’d China Glaze’s ‘Call Of The Wild, compared to Essie’s ‘Boredoux’ ‘Call Of The Wild’ is a lot lighter in shade, in my opinion it has more of a brown undertone and would make the perfect autumn manicure.

IMG_3238-0.JPG

The next polish Is ‘China Town’ from Nars, now I’ve never tried a Nars polish so I’m afraid I cannot comment on the quality of the polish itself, but the colour is stunning it’s more of a berry red tone as opposed to an oxblood shade but never the less it is still a very pretty color.

IMG_3239.JPG

L’oreal’s ‘Haute Couture Red’ looks to be a beautiful copper toned oxblood shade, however in the past I have had polishes from L’oreal and let’s just say the formula it’s exactly the best, in my experiences they were gloppy or streaky and took a very long time to dry. Don’t get my wrong I adore the colour of this polish it is truly a stunning fall shade, it’s just a pity about the formula.

IMG_3240.JPG

As many of you know Revlon’s ‘Vixen’ has featured in quite a few of my posts , and it’s about to feature In another. I have been lusting after ‘Vixen’ for the longest time but can never get hold of it, it’s always sold out, which is very disappointing it is such a beautiful almost plum based oxblood shade. In my books it’s a definite must have for any nail polish addict and when I finally do manage to purchase it, ‘Vixen’ will earn it’s rightful place in my collection.

IMG_3241.JPG

Zoya’s ‘Sam’ is a very pretty wine toned oxblood shade, it looks a lot darker on the nails than it appears I’m the bottle, which for some people be a good thing but for me it’s a negative because I adore the shade as it is in the bottle it’s beautifully unique. But regardless of the difference, ‘Sam’ is still a very beautiful colour on or off the nails.

IMG_3243.JPG

And finally, ‘Flirt’ by Sally Hansen is a very like Revlon’s ‘Vixen’ in the sense that it is a plum based oxblood shade as apprised to a red or black based shade. In my opinion this colour would look stunning at a Halloween party or even as a more Christmassy manicure colour, with some silver or gold accents to really make it pop. I think this is another polish for my ever growing collection.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post beauties, they’ll be a more coming this way within the next couple of days, but until next time,

Zoya’s Velvet Matte Madness

Hi Beauties

Well, I was browsing the web for nail polishes as you do at 3pm on a Wednesday afternoon, and I came across an advertisement about the rerelease of Zoya’s Matte Velvet polishes, I googled swatches and they look amazing.

I was amazed at how much they actually look like velvet, and the colours are beautiful. I’ve never liked every colour in a whole collection before, here are my thoughts on Zoya’s rerelease matte velvet collection.

‘Dovima’ is a stunning matte black which will be perfect for Halloween or even to transition between autumn and winter. A ‘Dovima’ mani would also look amazing with a glossy tip to give it that ultra glamorous look and feel.

IMG_3182.JPG

‘Posh’ is a very true bright red shade, again it can by made classy or you could add an edge of rockabilly with black vintage patterned decals. I love red and black together and they look stunning on the nail, the velvet texture of the polish coupled with the smooth look of the decal will really make your manicure pop.

IMG_3183.JPG

”Harlow’ is to me more of a fuchsia or deep pink shade as opposed to a berry red, it’s a lovely shade and very wearable but for me it would need to be just a little bit darker. However i do think this polish would look beautiful at a New Year’s Eve party, ‘Harlow’ is a lovely colour and even though it isn’t a true favourite I’d still have it in my collection.

IMG_3184.JPG

‘Savita’ is a very eye catching bright purple shade, I like this polish because unlike the rest of the collection it has a brightness to it which takes away from the strictly gothic look, however I do think the matte velvet finish to the polish makes it a fall or a winter only polish, it would just look too heavy to wear in the summer.

IMG_3185.JPG

‘Veruschka’ is by far my favourite polish of this collection. It is a stunning deep green shade. Green for me is a very versatile colour and a favourite of mine when it comes to nail polish. ‘Veruschka’ would look stunning with ‘Posh’ and a gloss tip to create a sophisticated yet eye-catching manicure.

IMG_3186.JPG

And finally ‘Loredana’ which is a gunmetal grey shade, is for me very much like ‘Harlow’ not a true favourite of mine. It seems to be stuck in limbo between black and grey, but it would still make a lovely mani for anyone who’s wants a dark nail but does not want to use a full on gothic black like ‘Dovima’.

Overall I really do like this collection the velvet matte finish looks stunning for autumn and winter and there is a beautiful colour selection, there is defiantly something for everyone and it’s a collection I can not wait to own.

Autumn Oranges

Hi Beauties

I’m felting a little bit enter today and I’m back at the gym, yay 🙂

And October is approaching fast approaching and pumpkin orange nails will soon be all the rage.

China Glaze’s ‘Riveting’ is a beautiful burnt orange shade with a bright gold shimmer and the golden flecks of micro glitter finish this polish off perfectly.

IMG_3082.JPG

Revlon’s ‘Orange Blossom’ is part of their new parfumerie range, not only is the colour a striking balance between red and orange it also smells amazing.

IMG_3083.JPG

The next polish is again from Revlon and is called ‘Marmalade’ it’s a very subtle light orange shade which makes it very wearable whilst still giving your mani that pretty meant for fall look, plus it’s name is super cute.

IMG_3084.JPG

Sinful Colors ‘Courtney Orange’ looks like it could be the love child of ‘Riveting’ from China Glaze and Revlon’s ‘Orange Blossom’, it has a deeper more red undertone coupled with a stunning combination of a gold undertone and golden micro glitter, this one is a definite go to halloween polish for me.

IMG_3085.JPG

Rimmel’s ‘Tangerine Queen’ is a very true, bright orange. Not really one that I would have in my collection as it is a little too bright for my taste but it’s perfect for anyone who isn’t afraid to rock a statement mani.

IMG_3086.JPG

Finally ‘Beach Party’ from Models Own is an orange shade to wear with a tan or one that would suit a darker skin tone so that the neon tone can really pop, but I think this polish would still be great as a way to brighten up dull fall months and remind us that summer is never really that far away.

I am now going on an orange nail polish shopping spree oops :-p

Fantastic For Fall

Hi Beauties

I hope your all feeling a lot better than I am seen as I’m I’ll again :(. It’s getting colder here in the uk that can only mean one thing it’s fall again, yay my fave time of year. 🙂

Not only because it’s perfect sweater weather but also because there are done amazing autumn nail polish colours, so here are some of my faves.

The first is Butter London’s ‘Queen Vic’ it’s a beautiful raspberry red-y pink toned colour, which would look good as a dark nail without going too over broad.

IMG_3072.JPG

The second deep berry red autumn shade is Essie’s ‘Carry On’ unlike the cult classic ‘Wicked’ which is a more berry red toned colour, ‘Carry On’ has a stunning purple base which in some lights makes it look black and in others you can see that stunning deep purple undertone.

IMG_3073.JPG

The third is a much more affordable option, it’s MUA’s ‘Orchid’ which is part of their new fall collection, it’s a beautiful shade that lies perfectly between purple and pink, it’s the perfect shade for the summer to fall transition.

IMG_3074.JPG

‘Release’ from China Glaze is another purple based fall tone, but this polish has more of a grey undertone which makes it more a neutral colour but never the less it still makes a very striking manicure.

IMG_3075.JPG

The next two polishes are again very affordable and are both muted neutral shades from MUA, ‘Bullet’ is a concrete grey shade with a very pretty greenish undertone, where as ‘Mud Pie’ is a much more muted light brown shade, in my opinion they are both perfect for an autumn mani without being too over powering.

IMG_3077.JPG

IMG_3076.JPG

Now as many of you may know Revlon is by far my favourite nail polish brand, the next two polishes are two beautiful jewel toned shades that are perfect for fall. ‘Vixen’ is a beautiful deep cherry red, where as ‘Rainforest’ (my fave polish of all time) is a beautiful forest green shade with flecks of gold micro glitter. Although these two polishes are completely different shades they still make stunning fall manicure colours.

IMG_3078.JPG

IMG_3079.JPG

Another fall fave from Essie is called ‘Berry Naughty’ not only do I think the name is super cute it’s also a beautiful berry red tone, it’s not so dark that it looks black yet again it can’t really be considered a true red. It has the perfect balance of both of these qualities and in my opinion is simply perfect.

IMG_3080.JPG

Finally Essie’s ‘Armed And Ready’ is a very unique shade, it’s a brown-y green shade with flecks of gold and red micro glitter, I adore this colour and it’s defiantly one that’ll be on my nails this fall and maybe even into winter.

Thanks for readings beauties, until next time…

Dazzling Copper Polish

Hi Beauties,

The weathers hot and sunny and I’m in the mood to blog, more to the point I’m in the mood to blog about nail polish but not just any polish, this post is going to be about my favourite copper polishes.

So get your drink and your sun tan lotion, hit the sun bed, relax and read on.

My first stunning copper polish is defiantly one of my faves it’s Revlon’s ‘Copper Penny’.

20140722-180958-65398305.jpg
As many of you know Revlon is my favourite polish brand, and this polish is simply stunning.

The second is ‘Harvest Moon’ from China Glaze, although the colour is beautiful and it has a very pretty name. In the past I have not had much luck with China Glaze formulas, they’ve been very hit and miss for me. It.

20140722-181513-65713192.jpg

Another polish I love Is from the magnetic range from Sally Hansen, it’s called ‘Kinetic Copper’ it has a stunning deep red toned colour and the magnetic aspect of the polish works fantastically and leaves your nails looking beautiful.

20140722-182018-66018519.jpg

This beautiful polish is by Barry M and is simply called ‘Copper’, this polish has more of a gold undertone as a posed to a red, copper tone like the polishes I have mentioned previously, but never the less it belongs on the list. Even though the colour is not quite what I would expect from a copper polish but it is by Barry M which is one of my favourite cosmetics brands every polish I have had from this range have been easy to apply, quick drying and long lasting, and no doubt ‘Copper’ will be exactly the same.

20140722-182932-66572585.jpg

The final copper polish I love is from wet and wild called ‘Rustic’ it’s a beautiful polish with more of an orange undertone as opposed to a red or gold. It has more of an earthy feel to it and it’s very ‘Rustic’ name suits it well

20140722-183319-66799472.jpg

I’m now going to drag myself off of my sun lounger and apply a pretty copper manicure.
