Christmas Haul 2014

Hi Beauties

Now that Christmas is over and done with and before we get back to normality, I thought I’d do my Christmas haul. I’ve seen lots of YouTubers and blogger do them so I thought I’d jump on the band wagon, so here is everything I got on Christmas Day,

The first thing and perhaps the thing that will be my most treasured item besides my Pandora bracelet is my beautiful peridot necklace, I love it it’s elegant, stunning and so special to me.

The second thing is another jewellery item from the Alchemy Gothic website, I’ve been a fan of their stuff for years, you can find some really unique and interesting pieces. My earrings are defiantly interesting, they’re cherries with skulls in the centre of them, each skull has two little wicked red eyes and a nose which I don’t think we’re picked up by my camera very well. I love them and I’ve worn them everyday since Christmas.

Now I’m not much of a drinker but my two favourite drinks in the whole world are Baileys and Southern Comfort, but this time it got even better I got Chocolate Baileys and Cherry Southern Comfort, they both taste amazing and were pretty much gone on Boxing Day.

Staying with the gothic theme I received a lace and chain choker which I adore, I love the fact that it’s super simple yet it will still make a statement and dress up an outfit.

Ive needs new hair straighteners for the longest time, I got new ones last year but the heating element in them keeps going. So this year I got Nicky Clarke straightens, they’re amazing they do I beautiful job at making my hair poker straight and super sleek, the only down side to them is that they don’t have a temperature control so I have to be extra careful when brushing my hair through.

The next two presents were little things that have a lot of meaning behind them, the 8 ball my boyfriend bought for me to help me make decisions, and the cup is such a great idea I love coffee and now when I’m drinking my morning cuppa I’ll think of my beautiful Jay :).

The next present is perfect for me as I’m always super cold no matter what month it is, this lovely fleece is super big, it comes down to my knees, super warm and it makes me feel like a sheep čÖé bbah

As you may or may not know I LOVE COWS and I have no idea why, but my Jay and a friend of mine both got me cows. Although they didn’t cost a lot
they both mean so much to me, čÖé

The same friend who got me the cute cow also got me a lovely braided leather bracelet, it has five strands, two of which are braided, one has an infinity sign, the other a pretty tree of life and the finale strand has cute birds which I think are swallows but I’m not too sure, I’ve yet to wear it but I’m sure I will very soon :).

My finale gift was one that I have been eyeing for awhile, it’s a green vest top with an awesome ouija board print, lace skull patterned back and big bows on the straps, I think it’s from jawbreaker, as soon as I opened it I changed into it and wore it for the rest of Christmas Day,

I got the pic of the top from ebay, as mine was in the wash.

I hoped you enjoyed my Christmas haul and I hope it wasn’t too late.

Ciate: Perfect Pastels

Hi Beauties

After shopping for drugstore Polish for such a long time and heating everyone rave about high-end brands like MAC, Chanel and Urban Decay, I thought I’d delve into the higher end of the nail polish world myself by bringing you my favourite polishes from Ciate,

As far as I know Ciate is a French brand and I only own two bottles of polish by them, but all in all I like them, they have a great range of colours, their formula is nice, goes on smooth, is quick drying and depending in the colour most Ciate polishes are opaque in 1-2 coats.

Even through it’s coming into fall again, this post is going to be on Ciates’s pretty pastels, I was looking up swatches online and pastels just seemed to catch my eye, so here are a few of my fave polishes that I would like to add to my very meagre collection.

The first Ciate polish is ‘Candy Floss’ which is a very bright yet subtle and petty shade of pink, this is a colour that for me will have to wait until next spring as I want to wear it with a tan to really give such an eye catching colour a new lease of life.

‘Apples and Custard’ is by far my fave polish featured in this post, as you may know Iove green polish, weather it be mint or a deep emerald shade green is a mani must for me. ‘Apples and Custard’ is more of a muted lime green shade and less of a true apple green colour, however it is still stunning and it has such a super cute name.

IMG_3098.JPG

‘Ferris Wheel’ is a very pretty muted pastel blue shade which remains me a lot of the 1950s. It is a white based blue which will give your nails a subtle sky blue shade without screaming ‘look at me’.

IMG_3099.JPG

Pepperminty’ again has an adorable name but it is also the perfect mix of ‘Apples and Custard’ and ‘Ferris Wheel’,it has the 1950s sky blue shade that can be seen in ‘Ferris Wheel’ yet it is balanced perfectly with the muted lime shade of ‘Apples and Custard’, this is such a perfect spring/summer shade.

IMG_3100.JPG

‘Hoopla’ is another pink shade but unlike ‘Candy Floss’ is has more of a peachy undertone, as a result you get the perfect baby pink shade, simply beautiful.

IMG_3101.JPG

‘Spinning Tea Cups’ is the only purple shade to feature in this post which is strange because I love my pretty pastel purple shades, even though it is more of a grey based purple ‘Spinning Tea Cups’ still looks like a summertime polish, but because it also has more muted undertone I think this would be a lovely polish to wear in autumn as a professional neutral nail that isn’t nude.

And finally ‘Strawberry Milkshake’ is another polish that would make a lovely nude nail, it is a white based pink, this balance means it is not so nude that it is plain and neutral yet it is not such a bright pink it can only be worn in summer.

Overall I think some of the polishes in this post are very versatile and have the perfect balance between subtle pastel shades and bold, bright shocking shades. In my opinion this means they can be worn in both summer and autumn and will compliment your look beautifully.
