Overcast Autumn Oxblood’s

Hi Beauties

I’m in the mood to post today, since winter is on it’s way, or for some parts of the country it’s already here, I thought I’d post about one of fall 2014’s biggest nail polish trends, ox blood nails. A deep ox blood manicure
will always wins place in my good books, so here are a few of my fave ox blood polishes.

The first Is ‘Boredoux’ by Essie, it’s a deep red tone, it’s defiantly one of my faves, it’s not so dark that it looks black, I love the fact that the berry red undertone can still be seen on the nail.

The second polish to feature in this post I’d China Glaze’s ‘Call Of The Wild, compared to Essie’s ‘Boredoux’ ‘Call Of The Wild’ is a lot lighter in shade, in my opinion it has more of a brown undertone and would make the perfect autumn manicure.

The next polish Is ‘China Town’ from Nars, now I’ve never tried a Nars polish so I’m afraid I cannot comment on the quality of the polish itself, but the colour is stunning it’s more of a berry red tone as opposed to an oxblood shade but never the less it is still a very pretty color.

IMG_3239.JPG

L’oreal’s ‘Haute Couture Red’ looks to be a beautiful copper toned oxblood shade, however in the past I have had polishes from L’oreal and let’s just say the formula it’s exactly the best, in my experiences they were gloppy or streaky and took a very long time to dry. Don’t get my wrong I adore the colour of this polish it is truly a stunning fall shade, it’s just a pity about the formula.

As many of you know Revlon’s ‘Vixen’ has featured in quite a few of my posts , and it’s about to feature In another. I have been lusting after ‘Vixen’ for the longest time but can never get hold of it, it’s always sold out, which is very disappointing it is such a beautiful almost plum based oxblood shade. In my books it’s a definite must have for any nail polish addict and when I finally do manage to purchase it, ‘Vixen’ will earn it’s rightful place in my collection.

IMG_3241.JPG

Zoya’s ‘Sam’ is a very pretty wine toned oxblood shade, it looks a lot darker on the nails than it appears I’m the bottle, which for some people be a good thing but for me it’s a negative because I adore the shade as it is in the bottle it’s beautifully unique. But regardless of the difference, ‘Sam’ is still a very beautiful colour on or off the nails.

IMG_3243.JPG

And finally, ‘Flirt’ by Sally Hansen is a very like Revlon’s ‘Vixen’ in the sense that it is a plum based oxblood shade as apprised to a red or black based shade. In my opinion this colour would look stunning at a Halloween party or even as a more Christmassy manicure colour, with some silver or gold accents to really make it pop. I think this is another polish for my ever growing collection.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post beauties, they’ll be a more coming this way within the next couple of days, but until next time,

Zoya’s Velvet Matte Madness

Hi Beauties

Well, I was browsing the web for nail polishes as you do at 3pm on a Wednesday afternoon, and I came across an advertisement about the rerelease of Zoya’s Matte Velvet polishes, I googled swatches and they look amazing.

I was amazed at how much they actually look like velvet, and the colours are beautiful. I’ve never liked every colour in a whole collection before, here are my thoughts on Zoya’s rerelease matte velvet collection.

‘Dovima’ is a stunning matte black which will be perfect for Halloween or even to transition between autumn and winter. A ‘Dovima’ mani would also look amazing with a glossy tip to give it that ultra glamorous look and feel.

IMG_3182.JPG

‘Posh’ is a very true bright red shade, again it can by made classy or you could add an edge of rockabilly with black vintage patterned decals. I love red and black together and they look stunning on the nail, the velvet texture of the polish coupled with the smooth look of the decal will really make your manicure pop.

IMG_3183.JPG

”Harlow’ is to me more of a fuchsia or deep pink shade as opposed to a berry red, it’s a lovely shade and very wearable but for me it would need to be just a little bit darker. However i do think this polish would look beautiful at a New Year’s Eve party, ‘Harlow’ is a lovely colour and even though it isn’t a true favourite I’d still have it in my collection.

IMG_3184.JPG

‘Savita’ is a very eye catching bright purple shade, I like this polish because unlike the rest of the collection it has a brightness to it which takes away from the strictly gothic look, however I do think the matte velvet finish to the polish makes it a fall or a winter only polish, it would just look too heavy to wear in the summer.

IMG_3185.JPG

‘Veruschka’ is by far my favourite polish of this collection. It is a stunning deep green shade. Green for me is a very versatile colour and a favourite of mine when it comes to nail polish. ‘Veruschka’ would look stunning with ‘Posh’ and a gloss tip to create a sophisticated yet eye-catching manicure.

IMG_3186.JPG

And finally ‘Loredana’ which is a gunmetal grey shade, is for me very much like ‘Harlow’ not a true favourite of mine. It seems to be stuck in limbo between black and grey, but it would still make a lovely mani for anyone who’s wants a dark nail but does not want to use a full on gothic black like ‘Dovima’.

Overall I really do like this collection the velvet matte finish looks stunning for autumn and winter and there is a beautiful colour selection, there is defiantly something for everyone and it’s a collection I can not wait to own.

Ravishing Rose Golds

Hi Beauties

I just got back from the gym and I’m feeling kinda down, I weighed in and let’s just say I weigh a lot more than what I thought I did :(.

I thought I’d cheer myself up by post my top eight rose gold polishes. ( I’m picky when it comes to rose gold).

The first polish is Essie’s ‘Buy Me A Cameo’ it’s a lovely colour but to me it’s more silver-y as opposed to te more classic pink rose gold undertone, none the less it is still a beautiful colour.

IMG_2606.JPG

The second is ‘Rage’ from Orly, which is more pink in tone than ‘Buy Me A Cameo’ but in my opinion it’s still too gold to be classed as a rose gold polish.

IMG_2607.JPG

The third is the first Sinful Colors polish I owned, ‘Mama San’ has a stunning pink undertone that let’s the metallic gold shin through beautifully. ‘Mama San’ is a definite go to polish for me.

IMG_2608.JPG

Zoya’s ‘Faye’ is such a stunning colour, it has the perfect balance of pink and gold which gives a beautifully eye catching colour.

IMG_2609.JPG

Maybellines’s ‘Rose Chic’ is a beautiful effects polish, it has a rose gold base with flecks of silver glitter, it looks amazing, I’ve never wanted a nail effects polish so much.

IMG_2610.JPG

The sixth rose gold polish to make it on to my list Is ‘Champers’ by Butter London, to my it seems to be a pretty gold colour with just a hint of pink, perfect.

IMG_2611.JPG

‘Gold Roses’ from Sally Hansen is a more orang-y toned rose gold that still looks beautiful as a summer mani.

IMG_2612.JPG

And lastly Max Factors ‘Sunny Pink’ has a very bold pink undertone, but in the right light hints of gold shin though , making this polish perfect for that casual rose gold mani.

Are there any Rose gold polishes I’ve missed? Please comment below and tell me what they are I love hearing about what my lovely followers like.

Manic Mints

Hi Beauties,

Even though the sun seems to be hiding behind the clouds that still doesn’t mean I can’t wear pretty summery shades on my nails.

So I thought I’d bring you my favourite mint polishes, mint polish has defiantly been a go to polish colour of mine over the past few months, so when I post my July faves keep your eyes perked for a pretty minty shade or two.

The first my my fave mint polishes has to be ‘Mint Green’ by Barry M, even though I only got this polish last week I’m sure it will be my go to polish for mints to come.

20140730-100639-36399218.jpg

Revlon’s ‘Minted’ is another stunning polish that I love the colour of but I only worn it for two days and it chipped… Badly, for me Revlon’s formula has always been very stay put and non chip, maybe I got a bad bottle, never the less it’s still lovely.

20140730-100919-36559798.jpg

The third is ‘Mint Macaroon’ by NYC, even though I don’t own this polish yet I love the colour and I’m sure I’ll own a bottle of my own in the near future.

20140730-101128-36688662.jpg

Sally hansen’s ‘Mint Sobre’ is a lovely colour but sadly the formula doesn’t always work that well for me.

20140730-101307-36787349.jpg

Mua’s ‘Pistachio Ice cream’ is another beautiful mint and is defiantly another go to polish, I’ve never really noticed before but it has a blue-y undertone to it when I compared it with Revlon’s ‘Minted’, but it is still green enough to be another beautiful summery mint shade.

20140730-101648-37008141.jpg

Now ‘Mintilicious’ from Rimmel is not your classic pale mint shade it is very bold and is perfect to brighten up a dull day like today.

20140730-101903-37143546.jpg

Essie’s ‘Mint Candy Apple’… What more can I say.

20140730-102010-37210465.jpg

‘Refresh mint’ by China Glaze is a by far the trust mint shade out of them all, (in my opinion at least) it is simply stunning and is another I will own very very soon.

20140730-102257-37377240.jpg

‘Bevin’ by Zoya is a stunning pale mint colour, even though I have never tried Zoya polish before ‘Bevin’ would be one of my go to colours.

20140730-102449-37489944.jpg

And finally ‘Mint Apple’ from sinful colors in my opinion is the perfect dupe for Essie’s ‘Mint Candy Apple’, and it’s only ¬£1.99 you really can’t go wrong.

20140730-102643-37603397.jpg

So my beauties I hoped you enjoyed this delve into my fave mint polishes. In Your opinion are there any I have
there any I have missed? Which is your favourite mint shade?
