Ciate: Perfect Pastels

Hi Beauties

After shopping for drugstore Polish for such a long time and heating everyone rave about high-end brands like MAC, Chanel and Urban Decay, I thought I’d delve into the higher end of the nail polish world myself by bringing you my favourite polishes from Ciate,

As far as I know Ciate is a French brand and I only own two bottles of polish by them, but all in all I like them, they have a great range of colours, their formula is nice, goes on smooth, is quick drying and depending in the colour most Ciate polishes are opaque in 1-2 coats.

Even through it’s coming into fall again, this post is going to be on Ciates’s pretty pastels, I was looking up swatches online and pastels just seemed to catch my eye, so here are a few of my fave polishes that I would like to add to my very meagre collection.

The first Ciate polish is ‘Candy Floss’ which is a very bright yet subtle and petty shade of pink, this is a colour that for me will have to wait until next spring as I want to wear it with a tan to really give such an eye catching colour a new lease of life.

‘Apples and Custard’ is by far my fave polish featured in this post, as you may know Iove green polish, weather it be mint or a deep emerald shade green is a mani must for me. ‘Apples and Custard’ is more of a muted lime green shade and less of a true apple green colour, however it is still stunning and it has such a super cute name.

‘Ferris Wheel’ is a very pretty muted pastel blue shade which remains me a lot of the 1950s. It is a white based blue which will give your nails a subtle sky blue shade without screaming ‘look at me’.

Pepperminty’ again has an adorable name but it is also the perfect mix of ‘Apples and Custard’ and ‘Ferris Wheel’,it has the 1950s sky blue shade that can be seen in ‘Ferris Wheel’ yet it is balanced perfectly with the muted lime shade of ‘Apples and Custard’, this is such a perfect spring/summer shade.

‘Hoopla’ is another pink shade but unlike ‘Candy Floss’ is has more of a peachy undertone, as a result you get the perfect baby pink shade, simply beautiful.

‘Spinning Tea Cups’ is the only purple shade to feature in this post which is strange because I love my pretty pastel purple shades, even though it is more of a grey based purple ‘Spinning Tea Cups’ still looks like a summertime polish, but because it also has more muted undertone I think this would be a lovely polish to wear in autumn as a professional neutral nail that isn’t nude.

And finally ‘Strawberry Milkshake’ is another polish that would make a lovely nude nail, it is a white based pink, this balance means it is not so nude that it is plain and neutral yet it is not such a bright pink it can only be worn in summer.

Overall I think some of the polishes in this post are very versatile and have the perfect balance between subtle pastel shades and bold, bright shocking shades. In my opinion this means they can be worn in both summer and autumn and will compliment your look beautifully.

Love, Hugs And Glossy Kisses,

Aurora xxx
