Todays Mani And Thank You :)

HiBeauties

I’m finally beginning to feel better, I was going to post a picture of myself, but I don’t look as well as I thought I did :).

Today’s mani is Sinful Colors ‘Winter Berry’ which is a purple based brown shade with a silver shimmer to it, it’s super pretty, I just wish I would have used it sooner. I’ve had ‘Winter Berry’ since November last year and this is the first time it’s been opened, as you can probably tell I’m loving grey and brown toned polishes which is  strange for me I’d normally go for red or pink.

A huge thank you to Project Swatch for the stunningly beautiful… Swatches.

Since spring is upon us (most of us) I thought I’d jazz up my mani a little, for this I used I glitter top coat from London Girl.

It’s a lovely polish with both hex and circle shaped glitters, combined with green and sliver micro glitters, it really makes my mani pop.

Please excuse the Shockley horrible nails I’m in the process of growing them out again.

I hope you enjoyed this post Beauties  and thank you so much for all of your lovely ‘get well soon’ messages they really do help.

Essie: Sure Shot or Jamaica Me Crazy

Hi Beauties

I have another decision to make, I’m building up my nail polish collection and was wondering which Essie polish I should pick this time, last time I went for Essie’s ‘Boom Boom Room’ as it got the most votes, so thanks for helping me choose I couldn’t have done it without you all.

This time the choice is between two pinky plum toned shades:

Which do you think I should add to my collection http://m.shop.nordstrom.com/s/essie-resort-collection-sure-shot-nail-polish/3306673? Or http://nails.allwomenstalk.com/flirty-and-fun-nail-polishes-for-valentines-day/8/

As you can see these colours are very close and very pretty, Please help me choose.

Orly Smoke Collection

Hi Beauties

I hope your pleased with last nights ‘One lovely blog award’ nominations, they were very hard nominations to make.

This morning I was browsing tumblr and I came across a lovely polish by Orly that was from the ‘Smoky Collection’, so i wanted to give you my throughs on the collection as a whole.

The first is ‘Smoked Out’ the name is quite deceiving as it brings to mind a black or grey toned polish, but ‘Smoked Out’ Is something else altogether, it is the most stunning deep green I have ever seen, in my opinion it’s still second to Revlon’s ‘Rain Forest’ but it is still an amazing colour, the metallic micro glitters give it a very mysterious look, like something out of a fairy tale.

IMG_3823.JPG

‘Highlight’ is a pale grey shade that is perfect for the ultimate nude manicure, but in other respects it is a very basic shade, one to be worn with jeans, a T-shirt and your converse.

IMG_3824.JPG

‘Darkest Shadow’ is another stunning polish, it has a deep base with copper and red glitters running throughout it. This polish is definitely different, to me this is the perfect shade for bonfire night it reminds me of the blazing orange bonfire against the smoky black night sky, love it.

IMG_3825.JPG

Orly’s ‘Brush It On’ is to me a shade that is perfect for Halloween, ‘Brush It On’ is the perfect fall burnt orange shade it has a stunning orange base with burnt orange and silver glitter within it. I did a post on burnt autunm oranges with this polish would fit perfectly into, it looks like I’ve found my go to orange polish for fall 2015.

IMG_3826-0.JPG

‘Edgy’ is again a pretty polish that couldn’t be better suited to the colder months, it has beautiful bronze and silver glitters that sit so perfectly on a deep brown toned base, ‘Edgy’ is perfect for both autumn and winter and for some reason reminds me of a snow covered wood.

IMG_3827.JPG

‘Blend’ is a brown based purple shade, again this is one that reminds me of bonfire night but this time of the morning after when fog hangs thick in the air and everything appears to be covered in a faint purple haze, this is such a basic polish yet it is beautiful in its own right.

IMG_3828.JPG

Thanks for reading Beauties I hope you enjoyed this post, I know I enjoyed writing it the ‘Smoke Collection’ has to be one of my all time favourites from Orly, come back soon for more,

O.P.I Majestic Mustangs

Hi Beauties

I was playing on ‘Forza Horizon 2’ last night and as I was driving around to world looking for my next barn find a group of Ford Mustangs passed me, which got me thinking yet again about blog post ideas.

It was O.P.I’s ‘Mustang Collection’ (obv) sprung to mind, not only does the collection have an awesome theme and lovely packaging it also has some amazing colours to choose from.

The first polish that caught my eye in this collection was ‘Angel With A Lead Foot’ not only does the name describe me perfectly when it comes to driving (one reason I don’t) but it’s such a beautiful crisp clean shade, it looks as classy on the nails as it does on the car.

IMG_3772.JPG

‘Girls Love Ponies’ is a very vibrant bright pink shade, I couldn’t really imagine this looking good on any kind of Mustang, but it makes a pretty eye catching manicure.

IMG_3771.JPG

‘Queen Of The Road’ is the darkest shade of the collection, it is a beautiful moody black shade with a shimmery finish and silver micro glitter add a touch of elegance to your already stunningly moody mani.

IMG_3770.JPG

’50 Years Of Style’ to me is a shade that screams 1920s sophistication, it is a beautiful gold polish with a gloss finish, it would look perfect with a sleek white gown, for that o so sophisticated dinner party.

IMG_3769.JPG

‘Red Race’, although the name of this polish leaves little to the imagination, it is in fact a very vibrant red, it has an orange base which is what gives it such a bright tone, in my opinion this polish would look fantastic paired with a lovely golden tan or even on the high way, how says your manicure can’t match your Mustang.

IMG_3768.JPG

For me ‘the Sky’s The Limit’ is a bit of a dud, I’m not that keen on blue polishes as some of you may know, but this ocean, sky blue shade is not one that I would associate with a powerful american muscle car, or a horse for that matter, this shade belongs on a Citroen or even a Toyota not on a Ford Mustang and nowhere near my nails.

I hope you all enjoyed reading this post beauties and there’s plenty more to come,

Winter With Sally Hansen

Hi Beauties

Well I’m ill again, no surprises there, I’m back on antibiotics and I’m unable to eat solid foods the joys of having a dental abscess that just won’t quit.

For this post I thought I’d visit a brand that’s a trusted favourite of mine, Sally Hansen has a lovely selection of different polishes to choose from but time and time again I go back to the ‘Complete Manicure’ line. This list is going to feature my fave winter shades from the Sally Hansen ‘Complete Manicure Collection’.

‘Shell We Dance’ is such i pretty milky white shade that not only reminds me of fallen snow but I think it would look lovely as a base for ‘Bling Tastic’ which is a beautiful vibrant blue from Hansen’s ‘Gem Crush collection’, the two shades would go beautifully together to create the perfect winter manicure.

IMG_3697.JPG

‘Shoot The Moon’ is a very deep silver shade with a pretty wintery metallic finish to it, it’s a colour that I’ve always considered a staple in my collection and is my go to metallic polish for the colder months.

IMG_3698.JPG

‘Plum Luck’ is a very deep plum shade when it is in the bottle, but I would say it becomes more of a wine shade when applied to the nails, it’s a beautiful colour and would make the perfect dark winter mani for when black is a little too black.

IMG_3699.JPG

‘Midnight In NY’ is a black that is just a little more than basic black, it has stunning copper and gold micro glitters which give it a very uniquely magical finish, for me this is a true inter shades.

IMG_3700.JPG

And finally ‘Golden Rule’ is a very pretty golden glitter too coat. That I. My opinion would look stunning over ‘Blue Blood’ or ‘Chain Mail’ which are both very dark shades from the ‘Xtreme Wear Collection’ which would compliment to eye catching sparkle of ‘Golden Rule’ beautifully.

IMG_3701.JPG

Even though this post wasn’t about an up and coming collection I still hope you enjoyed it, they’ll be more pretty polish updates tomorrow, but until then…

Barry M Silk Collection- Darks

Hi Beauties

I’m posting early because I have a lot to sort out today, this post is actually a part two of my Barry M Silk Collection series, you can see part one here which is about the lighter more summery side of the collection, but since winter is here I thought I’d bring all of my beauties the deeper darker side of the Silk Collection.

‘Forest’ is a lovely deep green shade with a pretty silver shimmer finish, in my opinion it is more of s blue based green which makes it a lot more suitable for this collection and the season than if it were a rich emerald green.

IMG_3645.JPG

‘Poppy’ is a beautiful deep red shade, that still keeps its true redness, I. Saying that I mean it still manages to look dark and wintery without having too much of a purple/ blue undertone.

IMG_3647.JPG

Finally ‘Orchid’ is a lovely royal rich toned deep purple with ties this collection up beautifully, for me it is the perfect balance of ‘Poppy'(s) purple/ blue undertone and the stunning green of ‘Forest’.

IMG_3643-0.JPG

I love all of these polishes so much, to me they’re very gothic shades and would be perfect as a way to move away from the more pastel shades of the Silk Collection and embrace the winter months.

‘Holiday Wishes’ From Sinful Colors

Hi Beauties

As many of you know Revlon has always been my favourite nail polish brand, but for me Revlon is sometimes a little too expensive, polishes start at £6.00 and can sell for as high as £10.00 a bottle. When my budget can’t stretch to Revlon’s prices I can still get my polish fix, from none other than Sinful Colors, they have a fantastic formula, a huge array of shades to choose from and they only retail for £1.99 a bottle and I think you’ll agree that’s an absolute bargain.

Since Christmas is just around the corner Sinful Colors have bought out there ‘Holiday Wishes’ collection, which features stunning blue and gold based polishes that are perfect for the festive season.

‘All About You’ is a beautiful copper based gold glitter that will look amazing, adding sparkle to any outfit. The richer hues of red toned copper make this polish stunning for an evening get together.

IMG_3633.JPG

‘Endless Blue’ is quite a bold cobalt blue shade, that in my opinion has a very casual feel to it, this polish would be perfect to wear when lounging around the house on Boxing Day watching reruns of old movies and blogging or vlogging about what you got for Christmas 2014.

IMG_3634.JPG

‘Ice Blue’ is by far my favourite shade in this collection, it is a deep blue base with flecks of silver micro glitter which remind my of a snowy night sky in Christmas Eve, Devine.

IMG_3635.JPG

‘Ice Dream’ seems to me to be the more casual counterpart to ‘Ice Blue’ it is still blue based with silver glitter but this time the blue is lighter, it reminds me somewhat of melting icicles.

IMG_3636.JPG

‘Cinderella’ is a sky blue, white based shade that is featured in this collection, it is one that I have had for nearly two years so it’s not exactly a new addition to the Sinful Colours range, however I can see why they included it, it’s a stunning shade that in my opinion is a winter must have.

IMG_3637.JPG

‘Gilded’ is a deep blue based shade again with sliver micro glitter, it is not as dark as ‘Ice Blue’ yet not as light as ‘Ice Dream’, it is infact the perfect balance between the two and brings to mind the Christmas classic The Snowman, it just has that kinda feel to it.

IMG_3638.JPG

Finally ”Gold Medal’ is a solid gold shade with somewhat of a metallic shimmer to it, it is in my opinion the most disappointing of this collection, although it is a pretty colour it just doesn’t feel very festive to me.

Favourite Berry Lipsticks

Hi Beauties

Since winter is here I thought I’d do something a little different in my blog, since I’m loving deep red lips I thought I’d bring you my favourite drugstore berry red lipsticks.

The first is Milani’s ‘Black Cherry’ in the bullet it’s a stunning purple- y red shade, but on the lips it appears more as a black red it doesn’t seem to have that rich purple undertone. Never the less it is still a beautiful colour and a defiant fall fave.

IMG_3131.JPG

IMG_3122.JPG

The arcing berry shade to feature in this post is Maybelline’s ‘Blissful Nerry’ which is more of a pinky mauve shade as opposed to a deep berry shade. In the bullet it looks very red, but on the lips it’s a very rich mauve berrypink colour. I think this lipstick would be fantastic If you want to do a berry lip but you aren’t a fan of very deep dark shades, ‘Blissful Berry’ might be your go to fall shade.
P

IMG_3124.JPG

IMG_3132.JPG

The third is Milani’s ‘Uptown Mauve’ it’s another deep pink based berry shade, this one is a little more true to colour than ‘Black Cherry’ in the bullet it is a very rich blue based pink and on the lips it is pretty much the same, perhaps a shade or two lighter.

IMG_3125.JPG

IMG_3133.JPG

Milani’s ‘Sangria’ in the billet this lipstick appears to be a true berry shade, it has the perfect balance of red and purple and would make the perfect fall lip. However the colour pay off is quite disappointing as on the lips it is a least two to three shades lighter than the bullet suggests it should be. ‘Sangria’ is still a very pretty colour and lovely for if your want a more toned down berry lip.

IMG_3126.JPG

IMG_3135.JPG

‘Metallic Seduction’ from Rimmel is a berry red with a very pretty copper undertone, with this one I’d say the colour in the bullet in almost identical to the colour when it is worn, making a very beautifully unique fall lipcolour.

IMG_3136.JPG

IMG_3127.JPG

NYC’s ‘Garnet’ is a very bright tomato red shade, which looks as bright and beautiful on the lips as it does in the bullet, although this one isn’t really a true berry shade it still makes for a stunning autumn lip colour.

IMG_3128.JPG

IMG_3138.JPG

‘508a’ (I wish it had a proper name) from Wet and Wild is a mother purple based berry shade, in the bullet it appears very deep, almost a wine colour however on the lips this lipstick an almost true red, but it is significantly lighter than how it appears in the bullet. To be honest I’m not a huge fan of this colour it’s too red to be classed as a berry shade.

IMG_3129.JPG

IMG_3139.JPG

Now I’ve saved the best for last Revlon’s ‘Wine Not’ doesn’t only have an adorable name it’s also a stunning very deep berry colour, this lipstick is by far my favourite one from this post. It’s definitely the deepest and richest berry tone I’ve come across and is a go to autumn lip colour for me, love it.
